Blue bottle fish

This is one of the dangerous items that can cause a lot of harm knowingly and unknowingly. The item is very unpredictable and the power is very hard to wield.

Item

The original name is lost to history, we gave it the name, “Blue bottle fish” because of how it attracts certain insects, in particular blue bottle flies.

Description

The item is made out of metal, it is in fish shaped and has five fish scale type hinges that can move from left to right when the fish is horizontal in position. The flexibility gives the fish a lively feature. On top of the fish is a scythe and a ring to hang it. The eyes of the fish are small diamonds. On the bottom there are four round shaped discs. There is no writing on the item or any maker’s mark. The discs at the bottom of the fish are meant for writing. This is where you can write a spell or names of the victim. The tail moves but the mouth of the fish does not open. It is a very light and could be worm with a chain around the wrist or neck.

Provenance

This item was first found in Birobidzhan, a town located on the Trans-Siberian Railway, near the China-Russia border. It was created by Jewish craftsmen living in that region. We estimated that it was created after the Russian Revolution. Since the artifact has diamonds for eyes we also speculate that it may have come from the Tzar family. We found the item in Castrillo Monta de Judio located in the province of Burgos, Spain.

Powers

We came upon information that an old Jewish woman wanted to hand over an item to our group. All the information regarding the powers of this item are from her. She informed us how her grandparents emigrated from Russia and brought many old antiques with them, the blue bottle fish being one of them. This woman was very distort and just wanted to get rid of it but give it to someone where the artifact will never be used or seen again.

This artifact was execrablized as a flyer. It can be placed under a pillow or side table of the victim and at night it attracts flying insects, mostly blue bottle flies but many others such as kissing bug, puss caterpillar and tsetse flies. The name and hair of the victim can be written or attached to the discs for a quicker response. This item has to be kept in an airtight canister to render it non-effective.

We were informed that this item was used many times and the victims did not survive due to poor medical care. These days, we have antibiotics which is an effective treatment for typhoid fever, pneumonia, intestinal bleeding, or intestinal perforation caused by this artifact.
